Ascenseur
The elevator puzzle for iPhone, iPad and Android. About the game
Playing
How do I play?
Tap floors to add stops to your plan, then press Run. The lift visits the stops in order. At each stop, riders going to that floor get out first, then anyone waiting there gets in while there is room. Get everyone to their floor to clear the level.
Each rider's destination is on the red flag above their head, for example F2 for floor 2. Floor 0 is at the bottom.
What is par, and how do I get three stars?
Par is the fewest stops that can deliver everyone. Every level's par is worked out by a solver, so it is always reachable.
- Three stars: everyone delivered in par stops.
- Two stars: one or two stops over par.
- One star: everyone delivered, with more stops.
If someone is left behind, the level is not cleared. You can edit the plan or retry. Any star unlocks the next level, and replaying keeps your best result.
Why do I have to stop on the floor where the lift starts?
The lift only opens its doors where your plan tells it to, and that includes the floor it starts on. People waiting there get in only when your plan has a stop on that floor, for example as its first stop.
Why didn't someone get in?
The car was full. Capacity is shown at the top of each level, and a heavy rider (drawn larger) takes two spaces. Riders board automatically: if a heavy rider does not fit, the next rider who does fit gets in instead. Drop people off first, or come back for them.
The lift won't stop at a floor.
- Closed floors are hatched and marked Closed ×. The lift can pass them but never stop there.
- Some closed floors have stairs, shown in blue. Riders going to that floor get out at the stair landing, and it counts as delivered.
- Alarm floors are marked Alarm · 1 stop. You can stop there once per plan. Everyone who needs that floor has to use the same stop.
Someone walked away. What happened?
That was an impatient rider. The orange number next to them counts down by one after every stop, wherever the lift is. Pick them up before it reaches zero, or they leave and the level cannot be cleared on that run.
Can I make the game calmer, or turn off the sound?
Open Settings from the main menu or the pause menu. Sound effects switches the game's sounds off. Reduced motion gives you a calmer lift and no confetti. The game is in English only for now.
Hints and ads
How do hints work?
You start with three. Tap ? during a level to see the next stop of a par route. If your plan can still make par, the hint keeps it and shows the next stop. If it can't, the hint removes the stops that went wrong first and tells you how many it removed.
A hint is only used when it shows you something new. Levels 1 and 2 show the whole route for free.
How do I get more hints?
When you are out of hints, tap ? and choose Watch ad. Watch it to the end and you get three more hints, and the one you asked for is shown right away. Closing the ad early adds nothing. Hints are never sold.
If it says No ad available right now, you are probably offline or there is no ad to show. Try again later. The button turns on by itself when an ad is ready.
When do ads appear?
Only after you clear a level, and only from level 11 on. They are spaced a few levels apart and at least 90 seconds apart while you play. You never see one during a level or after a failed run.
The game's sound switch does not control ad audio. Use your device's volume.
Can I pay to remove ads?
Not at the moment. This version of Ascenseur has no purchases of any kind.
Does it work offline?
Yes. Every level plays without a connection. Offline you simply see no ads, and you can't watch one for hints; hints you already have still work.
Progress and devices
Where is my progress saved? Can I move it to a new phone?
Only on your device. There is no account and no cloud save.
- Android: progress is not included in Android backups and is removed when you uninstall. It does not move to a new phone.
- iPhone and iPad: progress is part of your device's own iCloud or computer backup, so restoring a full backup onto a new device normally brings it along.
How do I reset my progress?
Open Settings, tap Reset progress and confirm. This erases every star and locks the levels again. Your hints and settings stay as they are.
Which devices are supported?
- iPhone and iPad with iOS or iPadOS 15 or later and an A12 chip or newer (iPhone XS and XR onwards).
- Android 7.0 or later on 64-bit (arm64) devices with OpenGL ES 3.0.
The game plays in portrait orientation.
Privacy choices
What data does Ascenseur collect?
The game itself collects nothing and has no account or server. Ads are served by Google AdMob, which processes data such as your device's advertising ID to show and measure ads. The privacy policy lists everything.
How do I change my ad consent or tracking choice?
Tracking on iPhone and iPad: go to Settings › Privacy & Security › Tracking and switch Ascenseur off or on at any time.
Advertising ID on Android: go to Settings › Google › Ads (on some phones Settings › Privacy › Ads) to reset or delete it.
Consent in the EEA, UK and Switzerland: the game shows Google's consent form when your choice is needed. This version has no button to reopen it. To choose again, clear the app's data on Android (Settings › Apps › Ascenseur › Storage › Clear data), or delete and reinstall the app on iPhone and iPad; the form then appears on the next launch. Both steps also erase your progress. A button to reopen the form inside the game is planned; until then, email us with any questions.
How do I delete my data?
We hold none, so there is nothing for us to delete. Uninstalling removes the game's data from your device. For data Google processed to serve ads, use your Google account's ad and privacy controls, or reset your device's advertising ID as described above.
